This morning, I woke up to the Eye of Sauron in the East and I could hear the horns of the Uruk Hai in the distance.

The plan was to watch the Perseid Meteor shower on a New Moon from a remote location with low light pollution. The AirIQ had suggested smoke rolling in on Wednesday, but I still went in the hope that it would be okay. I still had a really lovely time reading a book by a crackling small waterfall next to a beautiful lake. I saw a few meteors streak through the sky, but it was pretty hazy and the stars didn’t pop like they usually do.

I did “about a mile” along the High Pass. I need to come back when the air is cleaner. It looks like the views are spectacular when they aren’t completely covered in smoke
