Lt Murray Wildlife Area
Oh what fun it always is to drive a truck off road. Nothing today was too extreme, but it was full of ruts, dips, gravel, and dirt. We are so very lucky to live with so much DNR land that is maintained for off roading and ORV vehicles. There are so many cool dispersed camping locations and endless miles of trail to explore.
I made a path over the last few days on OnX Offroad. I really wanted to hit the Gnat Flats and check out Taneum Campground. I really wanted to go to Quartz Mountain, but there just wasn’t enough time today. As it was, we left at around 9:30 and got back around 5pm.
Taneum Campground was really lovely. Nobody at all was there and I don’t know how busy it gets. I think I would prefer one of the tucked away private dispersed sites myself.
Below is a photo of one of those dispersed sites at the side of a hill with a beautiful overlook.
The real treat of this trip was Tamarack Ridge Road. Really cool meadows and then beautiful views
Look at this amazing view!!!!
Get out there and explore something near you. Don’t over think it. The world is beautiful and there is so much to see and enjoy.
I mean look how happy we are :)
